Khamzat Chimaev Reveals WHAT WENT WRONG Vs Gilbert Burns At UFC 273

Khamzat Chiamev and Gilbert Burns came face to face at UFC 273 and this has been the talk of the town since then. In this video, we are going to put the spotlight on Khamzat’s post-match interview and Khamzat’s coach’s criticism.

Going into the fight against Gilbert Burns, Khamzat Chimaev was the favorite and Gilbert Burns was always the underdog. Khamzat had been thinking that this was going to be a walk in the park for him and that he is just going to make a quick work of Gilbert and be done with it. However, this is not how it went down when the two locked horns Saturday night at UFC 273. The good news for him is that he remains unbeaten in possibly the fight of the year so far! The man went all 3 rounds as he and Gilbert Burns absolutely left everything that they had in the cage. It will be safe to say that all the hype that surrounded Khamzat Chimaev possibly came to an end after this bout as Burns showed him today that there are levels to this game. If we take a look at his UFC career, he has never faced an opponent as strong and good as Gilbert Burns. Khamzat is not really used to taking punishment in the Octagon but he now surely knows that every fight is not gonna be utter dominance as he thought it would be. Yes, there are levels to this game and you have to be prudent.

Luckily, the undefeated welterweight eventually walked away with a win but he definitely had to battle through some dangerous moments in this fight, and he blamed himself for getting put in those positions by failing to heed the advice of his coaches. No wonder his coach was absolutely frustrated and furious at him. While talking about the fight Khamzat revealed what went wrong in the fight. He explained at the post-fight press conference. “I was too excited to knock him out, I was saying to everybody all week I was going to knock him out in one round. I tried to knock him out. That was wrong for me, from the beginning. He further added, “The guy was tough, I didn’t accept that. From the first second to the last second, I tried to finish him. Next time, I’m going to work to be a little bit smarter. I’m going to smash somebody.” Yeah, we know you love doing that bro.
